There is this cheap and very useful hardware 15 lcd keys console, that sends key commands to windows apps https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck

has anyone had success to make it work with XYplorer?

Solution seems simple, let me buy one (the 15-key version - you donate the money) and I'll write a layer that is able to react on the hotkeys that the product sends and forwards them to XY

In the end, anything could be done, as long as the hotkeys you've chosen aren't already registered as global by any other application; You could even invoke scripts in XY...
