Semi-Permanently Hide Select Folders?

First, please disregard the password reset I just requested. As is evident I am obviously here. 
I have a huge vault of icons and some of the folders can crash my XP. How/Where can I filter out these resource hogs such that only a specific instruction from me will (temporarily) display the contents? What I'm hoping to avoid is having to set the filter again when next I open Xyplorer. Thanks everyone!
