Hi
I am new to XYplorer and have waded through the help files to work out how to do this, but have failed. I would appreciate some help.
I have a folder containing a large number of image files. There is a standard file naming convention for the files and here is an example:
3d-hall-3-click-thickbox_default-3.jpg
I need to do two things for all files of this type:
1) Add "lg-" to the start of each filename
2) Replace "-thickbox_default-3" with "-back"
I know this is basic, but I would appreciate some help please.
Kind regards
John

Welcome to the club!
If there are no other files in that folder, then just select all and open Menu > File > Rename Special > Batch Rename.
Then enter this into the opened textbox:
Then keep those files selected and open Menu > File > Rename Special > Search and Replace.
Now enter
(This is the newbie-friendly way (no offense), but this could've been done in one step with Regex Rename.)

lg-*

I really appreciate your help, thank you. Can you point me to any online documentation that would have helped me with this?
