Let's say I have a picture in the Windows Clipboard. I wish to save it as a file somewhere. My proposal:
The standard Paste command would create a file with this picture in the current directory. A random name would be generated (and maybe the name editor could be activated).

This is already possible, and has been for a looong time,
Edit | Paste Special | Paste Image Into New File
