I find the best place to look for settings related to Preview is in the Configuration dialog, under the Preview section.

Configuration | Preview | Preview | Audio/Video preview | Autoplay

You could have also pressed the orange down arrow in the top right of the preview panel,
or even the button with an A on it next to Play\Pause\Stop, its the one with the "Autoplay" tooltip.

on my studio computer I have an older XYplorer version that works as intended (sory no version nb I'm at home)

sorry to insist but I'm a musician and having a mp3 at full blast thru the main speakers when searching for a file is an agression!

This only happens on your studio machine? Perhaps another process is involved?

happens on my laptop, my studio PC is on an older XYplorer version and works correctly
Ill reverse to the same older version tomorrow and see what happens

I come back to this unresolved issue for me because again and again I get aggressed by music on my hard disk while browsing a list.

All the preferences settings that could avoid autoplay, while having Show previewPane, open are set to NOT autoplay

I have tried the same with ::Fresh
then untick the Autoplay, no difference it autoplays
when I use the floating preview it doesnt play

I have the same problem.

When browsing through my file list if I come to a video or audio file, it will start autoplaying
XYplorer is not respecting the Autoplay flag

19.50.0200 upgraded from 19.30.xxx it's an old config for sure. Running on Windows 10 LTSB
(Windows 10 (Unknown Product Type: 125), 64-bit, Release 1607, Build 14393.2724)

I also deleted all the configs and such to reset it to default trial mode and fresh INI

Xyplorer IS changing the flag in the config file. It's just not changing any behavior.

Makes the preview pane useless at this point

happens to me too but only in the Preview Pane
so in the Preview Tab inside the info pane it works properly (as in does not autoplay)

I think maybe k-lite codecs has something to do with it? since before installing k-lite codecs I could not preview videos

details:
windows 10 pro 1709
xyplorer portable 20.10
k-lite codecs 1499

Does it still happen in the current beta? ( I silently changed something there; I now added it to the change log of v20.20.0003 - 2019-06-22 12:43 après le fait.)
