Copy speed

I have the following problem when copying files (with MD5 verification):

XYcopy starts a good speed (over 100 MB/sec) but progressively reduces the speed to less than 2 MB/s (mostly it freezes around the time it reaches these lower speeds below 2 MB/sec, but sometimes it concludes the copy after a long, long time).

I include XYcopy.exe and XYplorer.exe as exceptions for Windows Defender, but there was no difference.

Using Win 10 Pro and XY (the problem occurs with 17.9 but the upgrade -19.0- works identically in this respect).

Any hint?
