[INVALID] Close button on tab not shown on alone tab

With Configuration → Tabs and Panes → Tabs → Show X close buttons on tabs = All tabs, the X button is not shown on a tab when it is alone on the pane:

And why should this be a bug? One tab is ALWAYS open, there are no "tabless" panes

You can opt to not show the tab bar and then you won't have any tabs. 
If Don was so inclined (probably not), he could put the close X on a solo tab and it could do the same as removing the tab bar.
