Is there a way to get the hash of just one file? Example: I download a program; before I install it, I want to check the hash against the author's web site.
I've been using a shell extension in Win7 in the past, before I started using XY. Now I've been forced to move to Win10, and, before I try to install a shell extension, I want to see if I can get the hash of just one specific downloaded file using XY.
Any ideas?
Thanks...

Re: Hashing only one file...
Without resorting to scripting you can use this menu item:
File | File Special | Display Hash Values
or hash() scripting command, or for example

Code: Select all
msg <prop #hash.md5>;

Thanks, Jupe...
But my File Special menu item is greyed out/disabled. Why?
