It does, you will find out by playing with it a bit.
The only situation it does not work is when the file is selected by hovering the icon. That's by design, of course.
select special
Re: select special
Crap...I was so used to hovering the icon I did not think to hover the name column. Works that way.

Re: select special
To me "Select On Hover" is pretty bizarre, don't think I would ever use it. But together with single-click open (equally bizarre IMO) it makes some sense. But it sure was amusing as a coding exercise.

Re: select special
I find it keeps selecting things that I don't want selected when moving the mouse over panes. After the many minutes that I have been using it I have developed a deep seated hatred for it.

Re: select special
Did you use "Single click on icon opens list items" before?

Re: select special
i noticed something like this too and i was trying to set different values in: file info tips > initial delayI find it keeps selecting things that I don't want selected when moving the mouse over panes
i was trying to set 125 ms and it was not good:
there were too many wrong auto-selections (for example, while moving the cursor from list to tree)
400 is much better than lower values (much more reliable behaviour which means that wrong selections are very rare)
but i don't know why even 400 is slightly unstable in xyplorer
while in my system explorer even 125 behaves absolutely flawless: not a single wrong auto-selection during years
as i feel and see this situation: those 125 in explorer are real 125 ms
those 400 in xyplorer are fake for some reason (i don't keep the cursor above an icon during 0,4 sec - the cursor is obviously moved faster)
