Problems with new configuration

Hi!

I created new portable XYplorer instllation and configuring from scratch.
First it needs to say that I imported catalogs and favorite folders and files.

Now in catalogs icons of items are not shown, only empty white icons (no matter of folder icon or application).
Problem is also that I forgot how to configure to show EXE files icons in panes - currently it displays only blank white icon.

For now XY never hangs and has not problem with previews, even 64-bit context menu is possible to use.

But main and worst problem is that XY randomly closes itself, even without settings save and when I open it next time, it shows tab, panes and selected catalog which were opened at manual close.

In other ways it works.

Please help me and explain me what causes problems.

Check your paths. If icons are blank then the paths are wrong (= non-existing).

Paths are ok, it works, but icons are not visible, only blank white icon.
When is path incorrect XY indicates by question mark icon.
Also - how to display application (EXE) icon in thumbnail view?

And what causes randomly closing XY? It's worst what makes for me XY not usable - but I don't want to give XY away - it's best fileman ever I used.
Until this problem will be solved I must to use alternative - currently Explorer++, but it has many bugs as is and is not able to compete with XY.

Try if you see the same issues with a fresh instance.

Fresh instance was first from I began - clean install.
I added only preview handlers, favorite files&folders and I'm using catalogs and customized layout.

It closes not full randomly - looks like it waits for loner time displayed window with no action and then closes it.

Well, a faulty preview handler can make an app crash. Try to run it without those preview handlers just to find out.

Use ::fresh; again
and WITHOUT configuring ANYTHING, or importing ANYTHING, do icons work, does it close randomly?

Did it.

And results are perfect - icons in catalogs are shown, icons of EXE files in thumbnail view of panes are shown, XY closes not until I do it manually.

So, where I did mistake with config from scratch?
Can be problem in custom preview handlers? It was also imported.

Just try it. Configure it without importing preview handlers / catalog. It still does work? Fine. Backup that configuration.
Import preview handlers. Still works? Fine. Do NOT import your catalog. Recreate it from scratch...

Ok, I will begin again from scratch.
Catalogs are not problem, they were only opened by menu (not imported) only icons were problem.
I will not import preview handlers - I will do it manually. Current import of handlers was realised by modifying config file.
Original previous not working config is backuped and I can to start it on virtual machine and manually copy commands and scripts and then manually add them to new clean config.

I'll report results.

Yesterday I did first step - only removed custom preview handlers...
And XY never closes randomly - no problem.
So, from scratch it is not required.

But what with icons?
In catalogs are not displayed - really don't know why.
Executable files also haven't icons displayed - but this is possible to change in settings, one member of our forum it explained me and it was working.
Problem is that I remember it not and even I was searching in my posts and found it not...

Can anybody explain it me? Maybe it solves also catalogs icon problem.
In other ways - XY works properly.

It works - icons in catalogs and EXE, even LNK icons are visible!

So, now is all solved,I need only use old scripts and manually add preview handlers.
