Tagging not over 230 250,000
When tagging over 230 250.000 files it stops tagging files. I cant tag anything anymore. Is this the maximum tags this program can handle?
Re: Tagging not over 230 250,000
The value itself doesn't look like XY hit a hard coded limit (e.g. for unsigned integers), so:
What is the file size of the tag.dat file?
What is the file size of the tag.dat file?

Maybe that is the limitation here (1024 * 100). The developer (Don) needs to answer this question

Re: Tagging not over 230 250,000
So you are tagging 250,000 files? (What's that "230" in your subject line?)
IMO that's a bit abusive. Tagging was originally meant to manually and individually mark files to create an alternative layer of organization, independent of the folder structure layer.
May I ask what your tagging is about?

Re: Tagging not over 230 250,000
I have tested its 3 times with refreshed data folder. So the 230 means that I had another test and it stopped tagging at 230.000 files.admin wrote:So you are tagging 250,000 files? (What's that "230" in your subject line?)

Re: Tagging not over 230 250,000
I guess you are hitting a memory limit at some point.
What kind of tag is that? Can you give a specific example of an image and how you tag it (size, contents, quality?), and how you search it?

And I did it manyally by : select file jpg and go to -favorites -tags - and adding tags from there. I search it by the catalog clicking the tag names.
And still it not add tags anymore. And when delete some tags I can add some.

If you read my post here you see that I saw it coming already 5 years ago:

This is just not the intended usage of tags.
