Where is the tag.db located in Relative to tags database?

Post by pleiades »

Hello,

I'm testing xyplorer's tags feature, and research suggest Storage: 3 Relative to tags database to be the best match for my need.

From my understanding, the Relative to tags database is like a sidecar file where xyplorer will load when it finds one.

I have tried several application that use sidecar files like ACDSee where you could see the sidecar file beside the file. In xyplorer, I cannot see these files

I tested tagging different files/folders on 2 drive letter C: and D:, I then checked the files directory if there are any extra hidden files but there is none. I checked the tag.db file and the tagged files are all there.

Maybe my understanding is wrong about Relative to tags database option.

Where could the sidecar files be?

These settings define how tags are stored inside the tags database file,
not where this file is placed

Thank you highend for explaining it.

Is the Relative to tags database is the right storage type if my files/folders are located in different hard disk and external drives?
