but together with Xyplorer i'm testing another file brower (i won't say which one) and i don't see any arrow in shortcuts there because i can remove it.
i hoped that it was the same in Xyplorer since these 2 softwares are very similar (i'm asking for the same things i ask here)

i need this just for the links folder that i use as main filder when i open Xyplorer

but another way to have folders without arrows would be to set my favorites as default folder but i don't know how to do it. i can't find that folder

What's the problem with those arrows? IMO they are an important bit of information in this context.

You can quickly reach your favorites by right-clicking the white space in the tree.

Well, I already use a color filter to distinguish *.lnk shortcuts, and could do without these emblems. Less visual clutter.

Ditto on Sammay's "less visual clutter" and I'll typically know when it's a link simply based on my known present location or folder. So, I remove the shortcut arrows using a utility like UltimateWindowsTweaker or WinAeroTweaker which removes them in Explorer and it also works for my links in XY's tree but no where else in XYplorer.
