Persistent Info Panel on dedicated tab ?

Is it possible to have a Persistent Info Panel on a dedicated tab ?

So often we switch between find and normal browsing that we need to keep bringing up the Info Panel when it is not in the way of our browsing.
It would be useful if we could have the Info Panel always on in a sticky tab.

Is it really such a burden to press F12 when you want to toggle it?
