Default to List view?

Post by Ander »

Sorry if this has already been asked before. (I looked, but couldn't find anything about it.)

Is there a way to make XYP default to List view, rather than Details? Or must we manually select List view for each folder we open? That's rather tedious... Thanks!

After switching to List View, Menu - View - Folder View Settings - Define this Folder View as Default

XY does not default to Details view. This is just the factory default for normal folders (you must start with some view). But after that it always remembers the last view. No need for using Folder View Settings.

That kinda makes little sense.

Here, https://www.xyplorer.com/tour.php?page=fvs, the claim is that it beats Windows Explorer in Folder View Settings and can remember each folder's settings, which actually is not true (and should have been the default); and you claim it always defaults to last setting regardless of folder (which is of course the way it works), BUT is not a solution to the question.

From the same page:
This page has been written 2008-08-15. The screenshots don’t reflect the current look of the application. Some of the functionality might have been changed or enhanced in the current version.
And https://www.xyplorer.com/product.php
states that "Folder view settings" are not in the free version...
