I like live filters and use it a lot, but I find it inconvenient that as soon as I switch to another tab (in the same pane) and then back, the filter is gone.
I know visual filters are persistent, but it doesn't support "type ahead find", which makes it a clear loser (compared to live filter, that is). The thing is, it's already extremely convenient to manually dismiss a live filter (either by pressing Esc, or double-clicking the live filter bar) when we know we're done with it, so it won't cause any harm if live filter is made "sticky" across tab switching; on the contrary, losing the current live filter after an intra-panel tab switching is often unwanted, and requires at least a keyboard shortcut to toggle it back on.
In short, when we're done, it only takes Esc to dismiss it. But when we switch to another tab (which can be the case of opening a new tab from the current filtered view, see below), we are often not done with the filter yet, so it's wasteful that we have to toggle it back on.
To better explain the need to keep the filter in place, I will describe the following scenario:
I have a locked tab for my download folder, and now I use live filter to find all the sub-folders containing XXX in the name. Say it shows 3 matches, and I click on the first folder, which opens a new tab (because the download tab is locked), and inspect its content. Then I want to go back and inspect the second matching folder, but unfortunately, the filter is gone, I have to toggle it back on.
If you think the above argument is fair, could you please add an option to make the live filter survive a intra-panel tab switching?

Re: Possible to keep live filter applied after tab switching
This would indeed be useful since I too struggle with this constantly. I end up having to re-type the filter.
Would be nice to have a short history on the right-click menu as well.

Re: Possible to keep live filter applied after tab switching
OK, I had already prepared that in the code. I just have to enable the feature. Looks like something I can do pretty soon...

It was a little more work than expected but I could make it happen. Next version will have it. Good enhancement!

Enter "pdf" in the live filter box
Now I switch to the third tab "Downloads"
Switch back to the second "Dokumente"
The live filter is gone and the lfb is empty?
