Make XY open up with a specific tab set
Hello,
I am trying to understand which settings I need to change to ensure that XY ALWAYS opens with a pre-defined set of tabs.
I am finding that right now - if I exit the program and had 5 tabs pointing to network locations - and maybe one of those tabs was open to a machine that is not available on the network - XY freaks out and causes all sorts of slow startups etc.
I have a specific set of 5 locked tabs that point to local locations - what do I need to set in Tools-> config to make sure XY always opens those tabs and no other?

[not a bug, moved to this forum]
Why not simply tick this:
Configuration | Startup & Exit | No network browsing on startup

That does not work. Just tested it.admin wrote:[not a bug, moved to this forum]

I open XY - with my 5 locked tabs. (No network browsing on startup is ticked). Then I open two network locations in separate tabs. Then exit XY. Reopen and my 5 tabs PLUS the two network tabs are automatically opened. Same problem.
Need XY to disregard anything that is not locked and drop them at next startup. Thus guaranteeing I am not trying to reach out to a network location that is not there now - but may have been there last time during last session.

5 tabs are opened? XY can open only 2 tabs at the same time.

Re: Make XY open up with a specific tab set
No, "open" is when you select the tab. That's one per pane.
Configuration | Startup & Exit | No network browsing on startup will prevent those 2 tabs from opening.

Does not work.admin wrote:No, "open" is when you select the tab. That's one per pane.

In the graphic above - the first 4 tabs are locked (lines beneath each title). The next two tabs are opened pointing to network locations.
I have No Network Browsing On Startup checked. I close XY and reopen XY
All six tabs open appear automatically when XY becomes visible.
We are missing something here.

Can't explain it better than before. Can somebody take over with better English powers, please...

Might have something to do with what is going on under here?admin wrote:Can't explain it better than before. Can somebody take over with better English powers, please...
Thoughts?

What admin tried to tell you is that only one tab per pane is active (in your screenshot it is the leftmost "Downloads" one). The list for all the other tabs is not populated/refreshed on startup until you select that tab.
If you want XY to open exactly with the same setup each time you could set your layout, tabs and everything, save the current config once and then untick save settings on exit but then you have to remember to save your config whenever you change something you want to keep.
The easier way might be to set up a tabset and change the shortcut you use to start XY to load this tabset on every start.

This actually works great - Just tried it.RalphM wrote:If you want XY to open exactly with the same setup each time you could set your layout, tabs and everything, save the current config once and then untick save settings on exit.
Been looking at the Tabset - but how does the shortcut change work?RalphM wrote:The easier way might be to set up a tabset and change the shortcut you use to start XY to load this tabset on every start.

The helpfile is your friend!
You save current set of tabs as a tabset with a name, by which it can be loaded at any time.
To actually edit the shortcut you might want to look at the command line parameters.
