Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
Ok, I'm a super noob with this. This took a little too long to post the results. How can I speed it up?highend wrote: ↑21 May 2020 18:53 A modernized version:
Show recent items [paperfolder]_v0.3.xys
- Correct deduplication of entries
- Skip network paths if shift key is hold when the script is executed (may not work from the catalog)
- Open in a new tab instead of the current one
- Automatic sort by last modified date
Regarding the slowness of the script:
Normally caused by non existing / non reachable items, mostly UNC paths.
Hence the option to include them only with the shift key pressed.

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
The results of the recently edited list.
Now it seems that it no longer works. It searches for the files, then displays no items.

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
Sorry but my crystal ball has a small crack...
Don't you think that you should provide some substantial info?
Like the list of recent files / folders on your system e.g. through a screenshot in Windows Explorer (including the full path to them)?

The script works but there is one strange effect with the results.highend wrote: ↑21 May 2020 18:53 A modernized version:

If i double click an Folder entry in the resulting PaperFolder list there comes always the message
I can say ok or cancle and the selected folder from the list is opened fine.
If I just select an entry an let it display in the other pane there is no such message.
Also if I later reopen the created paper folder there is no longer such a message on double clicking an folder entry.

Then compare the content of the
Recent items.txt
with the real items in your recent items folder and tell if any of them has a non-reachable destination...One of my scripts helped you out? Please donate via Paypal
Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
The message comes only a few second after the list was created and I double clicked a folder.
It also happens if i just want to exit XYplorer with the paper folder open after it was generated..
As I said this doesn't happen if I later reopen the paper folder regardless of what was changed over the time.
What monitoring is done here, I think a paperfolder is just a text file after creation ?

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
I compared the content of the Recent items.txt bevor and after I say Ok to the message.
There is always one strange https entry as last entry in the created list, which is removed if I say Ok.
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2104423
All other entries in the list are entries starting with C:\

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
Screenshot of that entry?
And it is only in the .txt file and doesn't exist as a real item in the recent items folder?

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
It is the only and doesn't exits in the real recent items folder.
This folder has only 2 URL files
The Recent Items.txt ends with the following lines in the test case:
Code: Select all
C:\Tools\Wincmd\Icons\ZIP.ICO
C:\Tools\Wincmd\Icons\TC Compare.ico
C:\Temp\Test\x.md

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
Don't know where this comes from. Try 0.4 first. If it doesn't work I'll add a filter that removes any links at all...

Re: Adding QuickAccess (recently edited files)
Still the same.
It adds "https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2104423" as last entry
and removes this when I say Ok to the message.
