Is it possible to display "Dimensions" as a column?

Post by Vocalpoint »

I am right clicking on the column header for several folders full of images and I cannot see "dimensions" anywhere.

Must be missing something here?

EDIT: I think I found it - using "New Column"...

Not very intuitive tho - (this is a native column exposed in Windows Explorer - is it not?

Plus it's now hanging my machine as it grinds through the files in the folder. I thought it would be at least as fast as Explorer to display a column?

EDIT: Had to kill the process. Will use Explorer for this as there is instant display and no hang.

I suppose you found this, but if you right-click on the "Name" or "Ext" column headers, you'll see a choice "Custom 1: Dimensions". Enabling that should be what you want. Not sure of relative speeds.

I do not see that option. When I right click on either "Name" or "Ext" - my Custom items contain things like "mixed", "Sample Rate"..etc etc. There are 5 custom items - none of which I ever recall loading up like that.

I do not see that option
Because "Custom 1: Dimensions" is a user edited one, not the default.

Use fresh; in the address bar, click on the column header and take a look what's the default in your XY...

That surprises me, since I tried it in a "::fresh" instance before posting. I vaguely remembered having customized something in that area and wanted to avoid giving the wrong advice. And it's still there now under ::fresh.

Mh, I've made that screenshot in a fresh instance...

The best thing is to open the config, go to Information - Custom Columns,
click on Reset Columns...
and use Reset Columns to Factory Defaults

That shows Dimensions as the first column...
