Have upgraded to 15 but older version is appearing

I have been running on 11.6 on a Lifetime Pro license for a couple of years and have not felt the need to upgrade as XY was doing everything I needed ( and brilliantly at that). Now, with XY suporting my Nexus, I have decieded to upgrade.

So this is what I did......

I have the portable version. Win 7 x64

1) Copied the XY folder files to another directory in case I wanted to go back.
2) Extracted 15 into the original XY folder.

Clicking on the Icon on the Task Bar 11.6 came up.

From Windows Explorer clicking on the XYplorer.exe in the original directory brings up 15 but with only some of the settings from 11.6. Probably less than half the Catalog is filled and they all have warning triangles next to them. The bottom Search etc pane is not there.

Removing the copy directory onto a CD has made no difference. Using Windows Search from the Start Button only shows the 15 XYplorer.exe etc but clicking on the Icon on the Task Bar brings up 11.6. Rebooting has not changed this.

A couple of questions:-

1) What have I done wrong?
2) How did I get the Icon on the Task Bar in the first place?

Open XYplorer [v11] from taskbar. from the main menu choose Help > Various Information. Copy the text of the opened dialog and post here.

you say you "extracted 15 into the original XY folder [C:\XYplorer]". yet somehow you have actually extracted it to "C:\Users\Brian\Documents\Magic Briefcase\XYPlorer\"

So just copy everything from "C:\Users\Brian\Documents\Magic Briefcase\XYPlorer\" except the "data" folder. except the "data" folder.
And paste them to "C:\XYplorer", overwrite if asked.
Then delete "C:\Users\Brian\Documents\Magic Briefcase\XYPlorer".

I have already submitted a reply but it seems to have gone missing.

When I first installed XY it was with the intention of having it in a directory that was synchronized across all my computers. This didn't work as planned, although the forum provided some solutions. I just went with setting up XY, then copying to the other machines and then doing small changes seperately on the machines. I must have set up XY in C and then forgotton and thought the synchronized directory was the working directory.

Have updated and the Catalog is as expected although the Search etc pane is missing so will have to reinstate it. No big deal.
