Dropbox support in XYplorer?

Post by pjbw »

Ages ago an association insisted that I joined Dropbox.
At the time I was using PowerDesk.
This currently shows the Dropbox icons etc. but I now use XYplorer.
How can I 'move' Dropbox to XYplorer? (Dropbox have been no help.)

Do you mean this?

Configuration | Refresh, Icons, History | Icons | Show icon overlays

I just have a tab in XYPlorer that points to my Dropbox folder (sometimes multiple tabs pointing to multiple subfolders). I even color-code the tabs so I know at a glance which tab is for which folder.

I get the green checkmarks showing when a file has been uploaded to Dropbox, etc. I also must have installed the 32-bit version (or both versions), as I have Dropbox entries in the right-click menu, so it's easy to share a link, etc.

For me, it works great. I believe there are many others on here who are using it successfully as well. If you have any questions, just ask!

Thanks!

I see "Configuration > Colors > Tabs/List", but how do you set a custom color to an individual tab?
Windows 8.1, 64-bit

Maybe he just renamed the tab to add a color-coding icon and then locked it to particular folder.
Or used the "Custom File Icons" feature to color code individual folders which show up as default tab captions when browsed to that folder.

Yup, Sammay is right -- I was thinking I had done something with the tab, but on further review, I just have a colored icon set for the dropbox folder, which then becomes the icon for the tab.

Thanks for the clarification, Sammay -- without your help, it probably would have taken me a long time to find/remember what I did, as it was done quick a long time back... :)
