Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
Not a big deal but here Cyber Monday is the first Monday after Black Friday so your statement probably should read Black Friday through Cyber Monday. Though maybe over there it's considered to be the Monday before Thanksgiving?
By the way on the web page, the Eur reduced price wrapped under the US price so it looks a bit confusing.US$ 79.95 39.95 EUR 59.95
29.95

Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
Hi, I just took advantage of your offer for the Lifetime License Pro. I actually have the free version installed at the moment, my question is do I now need to download the other non-free version before I can upgrade or can it be done from within the free version?
Thanks, awesome software.
EDIT: I downloaded the non-free version and upgraded to Pro successfully, and it appears as though the free version is completely separate because now I have two versions on my computer. I guess what I was trying to achieve was to keep all my settings the same. No big deal I guess, but if someone could clarify before I delete the free version?
Thanks again.

Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
Hmm...
Don't delete the free version yet. There should be a way to migrate the settings from your free version to the paid version. Unfortunately I'm not home at the moment so I can't test it and write you up the steps so I will once I get home unless the other members beat me to it.
It's interesting though because I thought XYplorer should be able to migrate the settings from the free version into the paid version as well. Well, that will be figured out soon enough.
EDIT: Actually, did you already tried starting the paid version and the settings were not migrated? Or am I just misunderstanding you and what actually happened was that you successfully migrated the settings and simply just asking if you can uninstall XYplorerFree now? If that's the case, then yes.

Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
Hi Eternal,
What happened was that I couldn't find a way to upgrade from within the free version after buying the Pro license (all I got was a message saying "You can't upgrade from that key" or words to that effect), so I downloaded the full version and then upgraded from within that to Pro. And to answer your question...no, my settings were not transferred from the free to the full version. However, it isn't a problem for me, I'm just curious as to whether I've gone about this the wrong way.
The more I poke around the better this thing gets...how did I exist for so long without this..?

Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
1) Upgrading: Free and Pro are quite different executables, and this difference cannot be removed by entering a key. So, yes, you need to download the Pro/Trial version to unlock it with your key.
2) Migrating the settings: Free and Pro are by default installed in different locations and (that's important here) use different application data paths. That's because I decided to treat them as different applications. Note that they also have different names: XYplorer vs XYplorerFree.
Nevertheless it's easy to migrate the settings from Free to Pro. Simply copy all contents from the Free application data path to the Pro application data path. (I never actually tested this, let me know if it does not work as expected.)

Re: !!! CYBER MONDAY 2014 PROMOTION !!!
Thanks Donald, I've actually set things up much better with the Pro version so no need to try your migration suggestion. It was more of a "is it possible" sort of query. So everything is working just great now, keep up the good work.

I bought it, thanks
It's been a few years since I tried the program. I don't know how I got to the website again, but it's just in time.

I don't see anything but a normal license price on that page, and anyway, I purchased my full-price license late last night.admin wrote:Tip: It's still active here (last day definitely): http://sites.fastspring.com/xyplorer/pr ... licensepro
I appreciate the gesture.
