Can you add an option "Point to select --- Not whole string" ?
need that the file is highlighted only when you hover over the name / icon and not the entire empty line
otherwise it turns out that you move the cursor over empty space, and the elements are highlighted randomly

And not necessarily, just an idea:
Add a window for hover timer. How many milliseconds it will take to autoselect a folder/file.
Someone needs 500 milliseconds (roughly the same amount is now set by default), and someone needs faster - 50 milliseconds or slower - 2000 milliseconds

Hover also works from other applications.
For example, if you use a calculator and the cursor is placed on a folder, the active application will switch from the calculator to XYplorer.
Can I turn off the hover when another application is active? To customize hover works only when the active application = XYplorer

I confirm.
It's Windows settings or some kind of software.
On new fresh Windows there is no window activation.
But the selection is still there.

Again, this is not XY's behavior! Selection on hovering the filename is not implemented...
