colored folders per drive for folders with no specific icon

Post by radnor28 »

Using XY12.40.

When I use *\ I can assign an icon for all generic folders (folders without an icon specified in desktop.ini file).

But when I try to assign different colored folder icons for different drive letters, using E:\*\ then I lose all of the specific folder icons (specified in desktop.ini files).

I would like to have different colored folder icons for generic folders (only) on each drive.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Thank your for your help.

To respect the icons specified in desktop.ini , please use /d in the pattern

E:\*\ /d ><xyicons>\coloredfoldericon.ico

Welcome, just forgot mentioning you would have to add the /r switch as well for applying the pattern recursively.

Not necessary here since E:\*\ will match all paths under E:\.

BTW, I start to wonder whether /d (respect desktop.ini) should be the default and not need a switch (but add a switch NOT to respect desktop.ini... hmm?

I find the current method fine.
