1 px white lines appear along edge of fullscreen preview...

Post by ghost zero »

1 pixel thick white lines appear along the right and bottom edge of fullscreen preview. This bug has these 2 characteristics...

- Starts and continues to happen after changing display resolution or running a fullscreen program--such as a game or 3D graphics screensaver (such as a fish aquarium screensaver) [may have to restart XY to see].

- Reapplying Windows 7 visual style or theme can fix and prevent the bug from happening again for the remaining Windows session. But the bug can be triggered again after a reboot and running a fullscreen program.

- This bug only happens to "fullscreen preview", but doesn't happen to "mouse down blow up" of a fullscreen image.

Can this be fixed?

Windows 7 x64
XY 12.40

NOTE: If you need a fullscreen program to test this bug, you can use this 3D fish screensaver...

It always happens until after you reboot Windows??? No, this cannot be fixed. Not in XY.

I can confirm what ghost zero says. Watching a movie in full screen triggers this too.
But viewing an image with the windows previewer and then hitting F11 works flawlessly ... ...

don, i'm not sure if this is a windows 7 interface rendering bug. but even if this bug might not be caused directly by xyplorer, is there any way you can workaround this bug? perhaps by expanding the border of the fullscreen preview by 1 pixel? so that the visibility of this bug can be pushed off screen? would be helpful for those of us who experience it.

I now think it's my fault, something is not correctly reset. It's a bit tricky. I tried some hours now but failed. I'll try again later.

I think I fixed it in v11.30.0102. Can you confirm?

this might be caused by a windows 7 interface bug. currently, i can get it fixed and stop happening by switching to another windows 7 aero theme and back. but after a reboot, the problem can happen again. perhaps a workaround can be implemented, as previously mentioned?

Nope, no workaround possible in this case.

But as I said, I could reproduce it, and now it's gone. So, at least for my Win7, I fixed it.

this bug doesn't happen to mouse down blow up [thumbnail, floating, or fullscreen]. it only happens to regular viewing in fullscreen preview. does this give a clue on how to fix it?

also, in fullscreen preview...

when mouse down blow up is used to resize a larger-than-screen image, the 1 px white lines appear along the left and top edge of the screen instead of the right and bottom edge.

NOTE: behaves this way for images that match the aspect ratio of the screen [such as wallpapers].

added additional detail...

- This bug only happens to "fullscreen preview", but doesn't happen to "mouse down blow up" of a fullscreen image.
