TortoiseSVN

Post by raananb »

I have been using Tortoise SVN with XYplorer 8.0 on my Vista laptop with no problems for a number of years.

I tried to install Tortoise SVN on Windows XP & XYPlorer 10.40.0100 (home license) and a right-click on a folder kills XYPlorer immediately, with a suggestion to send an error report to MS.

Any ideas (other than moving to Win 7) ?

1. Update to the latest version. Just because :)
2. Does the problem happen in Explorer?
3. Have you raised this matter with devs of TortoiseSVN?

Since you confirmed that it happens in Explorer too, I suspect it to be an issue with TortoiseSVN. Perhaps, a nasty bug snuck into their context menu item code.

I've been using Tortoise SVN for at least 2 years, first under XP (32bit) and now under Win7x64. I've used just about every major version (and most of the betas) of XY during that time, and have never had the issues you describe. I'm pretty current on my version of Tortoise SVN (build 19725), and XY 10.50 at the moment, and have no problems at all...

Definitely strange what you're seeing...
