Thumbnails display "Bad image file" for some JPEG

OS: WindowsME

I've found more than 12 images which have "Bad image file" written where the thumbnail should be. However, Windows Image Preview has no difficulty with these files. BMP equivalents of these images work fine.

Here's a sample of some smaller images:

The pictures you attached have JPG extensions but are of BMP format, hence they are qualified as "bad jpegs". I'll see how to handle this...

IrfanView will tell you if an image has the wrong extension and then gives you the option to change it to the correct extension. I don't know why some web sites distribute images with the wrong extension, but they do.
