Recycle bin won't auto refresh after upgrade to 9.80.0100+

Post by ghost zero »

I just upgraded from 9.50 to 9.50.0100 and now the recycle bin won't auto refresh anymore. Such as when I delete or restore something. I usually have the recycle bin in my 2nd pane. I have auto refresh checked in options. Can this be fixed?

BTW: I'm on Windows 7 x64.

EDIT:

problem is back! i just upgraded from 9.70 to 9.80.0100. now sometimes when i delete an item from the recylce bin, it won't disappear until i manually refresh the recycle bin. empty folders work fine. but files or folders with files in them don't work.

Well, it don't work here!!!

Cold start (previous test was with my Recycle Bin ini file).

Auto -refresh is checked.
Refresh on file system changes is checked.
Drive is Drive C - NOT A SCSI DRIVE.
Recycle Bin (Virtual).

Select a file, right context menu, delete. NOTHING HAPPENS.
The file is still highlighted, so repeat the operation:

---------------------------
Error Deleting File or Folder
---------------------------
Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

so the file HAS been deleted.
Click the error box O.K. and the file is removed from the list.

It is becoming obvious to me that the whole Auto-Refresh system is not reliable.

Confirmed, permanent deletion from the recycle bin was not auto refreshed (since about 3 weeks ago). Fixed in next version.

pane 1 folder | pane 2 recycle bin

for me, when i delete a file from a folder, it doesn't show up in recycle bin--until i refresh the recycle bin. and when i restore the file from recycle bin, it doesn't disappear from recycle bin--until i refresh recycle bin. the folder updates fine though. is this fixed?

What on earth do you mean!!

Where, in the name of ***, can you delete the Recycle Bin to if it's not permanent?

Or are you saying that deletion using the right context menu is NOT deletion to the Recycle Bin. In that case you had better change the name of the item in the context menu.

I cannot repro this on XP. Will try Win7 later...

Got it (indeed a Win7 only bug). Fixed in next version.

9.60

the bug is still present but now a bit different. auto refresh starts to not work when RESTORING 9 or more files at once from the recycle bin. or when DELETING 10 or more files from a folder. can this be fixed?
