File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWare
Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
@Don: In the first posts of this thread also Remote Desktop was mentioned - can this help to debug? You should be able to test this between your WXP and Win7, I don't think it should make a difference that one of your systems is virtual.
I've just tested (on 2 different local systems): RDP from WXP to W7, on both sides start XY.
- Copying with ctrl-c on one and ctrl-v on the other system is OK in both directions.
- Ctrl-c can be replaced with right-click/copy: no problem
- after a copy the right-click/paste on the other system isn't available at all (gray)
- dragging with mouse doesn't work - sometimes one XY hangs! On first view rather confusing results...
E.g. on dragging from remote to local XY the "+" is shown over the local XY, but after drop the file appeared on the remote desktop!!! Reproducible! But same happens when copying to local WE.
Ahhh - same happens when copying from remote WE to local WE. The file is always dropped at that location where the cursor left the window of the remote desktop - on copy from WE I saw that the icon kept hanging there...
So dragging from remote RDP to local seems to be impossible, symbol always keeps hanging inside RDP window.

Steps to Debug in v12.90.0017
1. Enable debugging by entering this script via address bar:
2. Paste a file until crash.
3. Restart XY ( ) and go to app data path and look for a newly created file called "XYLog-2013-09-20.txt".
4. Open that file and post contents here.
My "XYLog-2013-09-20.txt" file (no crash) looks like this:
1. Enable debugging by entering this script via address bar:
Code: Select all
debuglogtofile 32;
3. Restart XY ( ) and go to app data path and look for a newly created file called "XYLog-2013-09-20.txt".
4. Open that file and post contents here.

Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
The clipboard data are not in the expected format, but XY should handle this case without crash.
Let's find the exact line where it crashes. Please download again (it's v12.90.0018 now) and try again.

Woah! Another crazy bug?! Unfortunately I can't join to help in this one since I don't have the software.
Also out of curiosity, have you done these debuglogtofile thing in the past? It seems to be extremely useful?
