Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
Thanks.
So it looks like XY has problems with receiving (Paste) files from the clipboard, when the source or the target is virtual.
Does it only concern paste from clipboard or also other means of copying?

I haven't tried anything else so far.
What else could be used between a physical and virtual os apart from the clipboard?

Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
Drag & Drop, or a shared folder, depending on you setup.
Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
Drag and drop:
Direction: PHYSICAL -> VIRTUAL
Impossible to use, the mouse cursor changes to a striked through circle when you hover over the virtual machine's screen.
This isn't XYplorer or Windows explorer related.
Direction: VIRTUAL -> PHYSICAL
Works with all combinations of XYplorer / XYplorer / Windows Explorer
Shared folders:
I don't use them atm but I'd expect that this should work normally. A shared folder in a network isn't imho related to the capabilities of a file explorer (if he can display the shared folder it is able to use it).

Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
I always suffered the same problem and worked around using Explorer but I'm not sure it's XYplorer fault. This is the clipboard format, generated on the virtual machine, for a sample file XYplorer fails to paste in the VM after copying on the real machine, I don't know if it says something useful.

XY supports CF_HDROP.
I will investigate it later...

Well, CF_HDROP should be enough. I tested it again and see no problems. So this remains unsolved for now.

Try harder please. It's an unresolved issue for nearly 2 years now.

Does XY see the files in the clipboard (Edit / paste special / Edit files in clipboard)?highend wrote:Try harder please. It's an unresolved issue for nearly 2 years now.

Can you browse to the source file within XY?grindax wrote:Yes. The name of the file copied inside the VM does show up in XYplorer's view of the clipboard. And when trying to Paste it using XYplorer, the Custom Copy window briefly appears but nothing happens.admin wrote:Does XY see the files in the clipboard (Edit / paste special / Edit files in clipboard)?

Re: File copy to/from Remote Desktop Connection and/or VMWar
In that case I don't see how a paste could be possible. If I just have the info in CF_HDROP and it does not even contain a path...grindax wrote:How would that be possible? -- the source file is not on the host, it is inside the virtual machine. If I go into "Edit Files in Clipboard..." I can see the source filename only, i.e. there is no path. And the icon to the left is a triangle with exclamation mark inside.admin wrote:Can you browse to the source file within XY?
I don't have VMWare. Any way to reproduce this with Virtualbox?
