Tagged Items missing icons

Post by jupe »

I assume that this is because of the recent changes regarding icons, but I have noticed something strange with List Management Tagged Items, the icons are missing from my tagged items, other lists are ok though, and in fresh the icons show, but if I load my tag.db they disappear, currently using v23.80.0002:

I did it for speed. I had tested some huge databases and the slowness due to the icons annoyed me.

Wait, I have an idea... I could at least show the generic icons (which are much faster).
Nope, just saw it was generic already and even that is slow when you have > 100,000 items.
Wow, just saw that the last sentence is correct in theory, but not in reality! So, yes, I can get them to come back in generic form! :)

Just my opinion, but I think it is important to show the icons in this dialog because it allows you to spot orphans easily.

OK, I'll show generic icons from 64K onwards, that sounds like a familiar limit.

Thanks for returning icons, one thing that it just helped me notice was that I had about 20 orphan files which had -999 as the index, I don't use MUT, and there are no -888 so probably just a beta hiccup, but thought I'd let you know.

For the past few weeks, -888 is used internally to mark items that have been stripped of any tags. But this is only necessary and only happens in Multi-User Tagging (Auto-refresh tags is ticked) or when you use the new dirty-tag color filter. Those items should disappear from the database when you startup the next session.

I think this might be related, after updating to the latest Beta, generic icons are being displayed when calling the inputselect() function in scripts.
