Getting errors when hovering some video files

Post by 1024mb »

I'm starting to get this error when hovering some files (to see their preview):

Code: Select all

Error: 6 (0x00000006)
Desc: Overflow
Dll: 0
Proc: tmrDelay_Timer: 9>0

Source: XYplorer
XY ver: XYplorer 22.40.0231
OS: Windows 10 Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, 64-bit, Release 2009, Build 19043.1320
Locale: 10250 (es-ES)
ANSI: 1252, ACP: 65001 (UTF-8)
Font: Comic Sans MS 14.25, DBCS: No
DPI: 96 (100%), 1920x1080
22.40.0231, I've tried with 20.30.0002 with the same video files and this doesn't happen.

Hmm, interesting. Can you link me to any of those videos?

This MKV video works fine in the preview pane

Updated to 0232 and tried the Preview Pane and it works there, but the Preview tab gives me the same error as before.

Well, zero problems here.

PS: v22.40.0233 should show a different error message.

Hmmm, can't see yet what could be causing this error. The next beta will have a slightly different error message.

Hmm, these errors don't make any sense. They are not telling the truth. I assume something is wrong with your codec in this manages to surface in XY and confuse it deeply. ATM I don't see a way to narrow it down, let alone fix it.

Isn't it weird that with an older version I don't get these errors? I guess I would have to reboot my system which I can't do right now, we'll see if that fixes this knowing how "special" Windows is.

With 20.30.0002 everything works normally.

EDIT: I have just noticed that with some files with which the Hoverview does work I can't get the thumbnail to show by holding click on their icon, with some it works with some nothing happens (cursor changes to loading and then returns to normal very quickly). For example with the video file I shared holding click doesn't work (I was expecting that) but with other files that hovering works holding click doesn't work.

And with some big video files (9GB+) I get a green thumbnail.
