First off:
I am currently not affected by this bug, meaning, I don't have any stress with it.
I just noticed it and thought, I better report.
My more exact observations:
Using Custom Tab Caption: <drive>: <folder>
When there are "too many" tabs then it seems that certain parts of the caption are just skipped, in this example, the "<drive>: " part.
There is not even an indicator like "..." indicating that the caption would be longer.
Plus, not all tabs are treated the same. It seems to depend on the width of each tab how they are treated, but I am not sure.
EDIT:
Reason why I noticed:
I tried to see if it is possible to number the tabs in their captions. So, that I would not have to count each time to see which tab number it is. It seems that this is not possible, not even if that bug got fixed. But it also is not so important at the moment. So, all ok for me.
EDIT 2:
Now that I am aware of it, I notice, that this is true also of "normal" tab captions. I realize now that I was wondering about it before, but it never bothered me enough to investigate. So, I now guess, it could be a "feature", aka "disign bug"?
