Search utility skips Onedrive Local directory content ?

Post by LGS »

I have my OneDrive local directory located in my V: drive. Namely V:\Onedrive.

When I try to search for files across the entire drive V , XYplorer does not see the targeted files when they are located in the Onedrive local dir. It seems like excluded. I verified and the files are physically stored on the drive, (not only the file names). "search in subdirs" option is of course set to on.

However when I instruct XYplorer to search directly in V:\OneDrive, it works. It finds the files. Strange . It is as if the OneDrive dir was seen not as a subdir but as a separate drive. (well in some way it is )

When I move the files from within the Onedrive Dir to a V:\test directory, XYplorer finds them.

When I do this under Windows Explorer, it finds the files.

Maybe I have a parameter wrongly set ?

Thanks for advice

While verifying this post I found a problem with XY search.
It finds file names more than once in the same location.
The following shows what XY finds and what is the real status verfied with Everything search and also other file manager.

The entry under "Eigene Aufnahmen" is a one drive location.

The problem comes when I set "Follow folder links"
Without this option the result is ok.
But the dir c:\temp\x is not having any special attributes or links.
So something is wrong with the search if this option is set.
The original posters problem is not verified, One drive entries are found.

With "Follow folder links" this can happen. Apparently somewhere on C:\ a folder link is pointing to C:\Temp\x
