Post by rass5000 »

In the end checking appear the window "Removed ### duplicate tags".

There aren't any tags, just labels...

And imho it's not a bug that items with the same name and different labels like

Code: Select all

R:\Max\2020\333|9||||||||||||||||||
R:\Max\2020\333|4||||||||||||||||||
aren't removed because how should XY know which of the two you'd want to keep (which is the correct label)?

How did you create those items in the first place? XY shouldn't have created them for you...

If I add the folder R:\Max\2020\888
and assign it two times one of your labels only one entry for it will be in the tag.dat file (with the last label number), not two entries...

That lines are switched is totally normal on a database check because the order must a naturally sorted one.

But:
Yeah, there are still bugs...
01. It states that it "Removed 2 duplicate tags."
While it doesn't do that

02. Removing the first line of DATA: in tag.dat is... a huge one^^

I don't know how the duplicate lines happened.
Perhaps while transferring data from one PC to another. I took out the disc from the old PC, connected it to the new PC as an external drive. Copied the data. Also copied the folder C: \ Users \ --- \ AppData \ Roaming \ XYplorer
I changed the drive letters to the previous ones, in accordance with what were on the old PC.
I no longer remember the exact sequence of actions. And now there is no way to repeat it.

But more than 5000 lines were duplicated.

I manually, using Excel, deleted exact duplicate lines.
But several lines with the same paths remained, its differed in the lables were assigned in working with folders and files.

That lines are switched is totally normal on a database check because the order must a naturally sorted one.
The sorting does not happen, because if you database check again, the lines are swapped again:

Before database check
R:\Max\2020\333|9||||||||||||||||||
R:\Max\2020\333|4||||||||||||||||||

After the 1st database check
R:\Max\2020\333|4||||||||||||||||||
R:\Max\2020\333|9||||||||||||||||||

after next database check
R:\Max\2020\333|9||||||||||||||||||
R:\Max\2020\333|4||||||||||||||||||

However, because of these swapping, I noticed this problem.
The folders I assigned new labels, soon its changed the lables to the old ones.

I don't know where your duplicates came from, but just shuffling them instead of removing them is a bug, of course. It will be fixed in the next beta.
