I replaced my Windows 8 computer with a Windows 10 computer, and PC Mover transferred all my data and programs, including XYplorer. For some reason, when I Right Click on a file to access the menu, a popup saying "Windows cannot find "(3 symbols)". Please make sure you typed the name correctly and try again". Then the expected right click menus appear.
I tried an uninstall, reboot, and manual reinstall using the program .exe program, without resolving the problem. Everything else seems to work properly.
Any ideas?

Re: "Windows cannot find" on Right Click of file
This is the only program affected by the problem. Right click behaves normally in windows explorer and all others, so im thinking something may have been corrupted in the configuration file.
Looked at the associated .ini for those 3 odd symbols visually and didnt see them, but I couldnt reproduce them/copy them for a real search.

You get the same 3 symbols for each file you right-click?

I guess he has some misbehaving context menu extension.
There are many which work fine in Explorer but produce problems in other file managers.
I would try the NirSoft tool ShellExView https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
Disable all Non-Microsoft context handler extensions and enable them one by one to find the culprint.

Re: "Windows cannot find" on Right Click of file
When this first happened, I viewed the 3 symbols as being the same on multiple attempts for the file checked.
I just tried viewing different folders, and different files within each folder and the symbols changed between files, but were specific to that file. Its as if the software was changing to a symbol font instead of a readable letter.

Try to tick this: Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Context Menus | Hide shell extensions from shell context menu

You Sir are On the Money! It worked!
I am using and older version 19.60.0100 as my license wont allow upgrades after 2020, so it was slightly different in menus, but I located the item.
If I were near you I would offer you a pint, but at least accept my sincere thanks. I use this program daily and my problem was quite annoying.

Re: "Windows cannot find" on Right Click of file
Well, now you have no shell extensions in the menu. You should try to find out which one causes the problem and remove it (see viewtopic.php?p=189463#p189463).
