Extract all and right click menu
Extract all and right click menu
Hello, I purchased this and am very happy with speed and workflow
But few problems, big for me
I work with archives all day long, zip, rar and so on... I search for example in a big HDD for archives, it finds many of them, in different directories, is OK, is fast. But when I select all and right click to "extract all in separate folders" for example, I don't see this option in XYexplorer.
In Windows native file explorer, it is, here I have another menu. I also cannot find the standard menu. Want to see the standard right click menu with 7zip, MP3tag, Open with Photoshop and so on...
If I right click one archive, I have the good menu, if I select all, it changes into XY explorer one?
I made a screenshot with problem. How can I have standard menu when I select all found archives from various HDD locations?

Re: Extract all and right click menu
Hi and welcome,
This is a known problem in XYplorer, unfortunately.
For reference, the tweak AllowMultiLocShellMenu=1 doesn't work with WinRAR.

Re: Extract all and right click menu
But is possible somehow to have second context menu when working with different archives from different locations?
Tried in Directory Opus shareware and Total Commander and it works. Here is not working

Re: Extract all and right click menu
You're right, it doesn't work in XYplorer but does work in other file managers. Unfortunately, AFAIK the developer has stated that this limitation can't be resolved by him.
FWIW, after all these years with XYplorer, this is the sole reason I keep another file manager around.
Re: Extract all and right click menu
I see the discussion you had with developer/admin 11 years ago, maybe meanwhile, something changed?
If the other file managers can do it, this file manager can do it as well?
@admin, please help, Thank you

Re: Extract all and right click menu
Do they create their own native context menu, or did they somehow achieve to make the shell context menu work for archives from different locations?

Re: Extract all and right click menu
Total Commander does not provide its own context menu
and the context menu works fine even for rar archives from different locations.

Hello, I need the context menu that is screeshot2
Not it's own context menu, just want to be able to extract all in separate folders. Also to have MP3 tag for files from various locations. That's all...

How? I tried and when I select archives from different locations it gives me the first context menu. How can I set up to give me this context menu?

Re: Extract all and right click menu
@admin, any chance this menu will be implemented soon? I hate to use 2 file managers, just for this small inconvenience

Re: Extract all and right click menu
Only if I find out how to do it. (Unlikely)
But in the meantime I might add a native function to "Extract each archive to separate folder" for ZIP and RAR.

Re: Extract all and right click menu
Looks are OK, but when you actually would 'extract to separate folders' and possibly more options, you will notice that it will be executed wrong, because those shell extensions are not prepared to handle files from different folders.
7-zip will extract only the files from the first folder it sees in the list, whereas WinRar extarct all files to the second folder (with files from 2 different folders).
I replaced the 64-bit context menu of XYPlorer with a different one (because much faster and less missing entries) and had that same issue.
