"Nothing to delete" message when file selected+DEL key pressed

Post by acanadianflyer »

I am on the latest version of XYplorer (20.90.0500) but the problem I am having has persisted for many months and versions.

Often, when I am deleting files at some point XYplorer gets confused and although a file(s) is selected when I hit the delete key (or X icon) a "No file selected" message is displayed and I am unable to delete the file(s). If I close XYplorer and re-open the application the delete functions once again. I typically must close/open the application a handful of times a day (approx. 5 times).

Further to this after so more "sleuthing", it appears the issue starts to occur after copying a file to 2nd hard drive. An error message doesn't always display (even though the file is always copied successfully), but has few times:

Error: 91 (0x0000005B)
Desc: Object variable or With block variable not set
Dll: 0
Proc: getFIA@210: Z:\_DL\movie.mkv

Are you deleting single files? Is that delete to recycle bin or permanent delete?

Typically, they are single files but this has happened with multiple file deletes as well. I always do a permanent delete so I'm not sure if I tested a non-permanent delete when this occurred.

Thanks,

Do you delete in the background? I.e. is this ticked AND is "Delete" ticked under the "Apply To" button?
Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Background Processing | Enable background processing
