A bug with "cut out" files that were placed into the archive

Post by John_C »

1. Create aaa.txt in C:\Test
2. Add this file to archive. That is, you will have aaa.txt and aaa.zip in C:\Test
3. Press Ctrl-X to cut aaa.txt and then Ctrl-V to paste it to C:\ (Update: No, you should copy it to C:\Users\YourName\Desktop)

4a. Return to the C:\Test and unpack zip file.
or
4b. Return to the C:\Test and create aaa.txt manually.

5. You will see that aaa.txt is shown (and behaves) as file that is currently marked as "cut". That is,

* its icon is semi-transparent
* it can be pasted

Compare it with Windows Explorer:

* the icon is opaque
* it can't be pasted (you will need to press Ctrl-X or Ctrl-C again)

@Borut, thank you testing.

As I discovered, you are correct. In case the file was copied from C:\Test to C:\ or C:\Program Files, the bug doesn't appear. Try to copy it to C:\Users\YourName\Desktop and you will see that the bug does appear.\

So, the issue is still here.

Tested with XY 20.80.0100, Windows 7 SP1 32-bit.

I don't really understand the problem. You say "No, you should copy it to C:\Users\YourName\Desktop". It is by-design behavior that the file remains in clipboard after a copy.

Sorry, it was a wrong word, I mean "cut".

It seems is was fixed in 20.60. Sorry for false alarm. :eh:

(This is weird! I was sure I tested it with 20.80.)
