Lock tabs sometimes fail

Post by ddvc »

Lock tabs sometimes fail.
It usually happens that when I double click into the sub-directory in the locked tab window
This is random and I cannot reproduce this situation
Is there any way or option to lock the tag completely

Welcome to the forum.

As both tabs and tags are features of XY you might need to clarify which one you are having problems with (I assume it is tabs) and then maybe give a bit more info in which way it fails to meet your expectations.

Sorry, I made a typo, it's tabs.
I don't know when it will reappear, usually when double-clicking into a subfolder

Okay, but you still didn't elaborate in which way you believe the lock is failing.
What happens if you dbl-click a subfolder as opposed to what you would expect to happen.
Did you lock the location or just the home zone?

+1 i have same bug for long time, obviously updating, but it doesn't disappear. same as TS i couldn't notice the proper way to reproduce, that's why didn't report, thougth it happens from time to time. in y case it's simple locked tab, no home zone or anything, path locked on root of micro-sd card that is always in card-reader.

When you double-click a subfolder of a pane below a locked tab, the normal is this (at least 90% of the time):
Double-click the subfolder in the pane, the currently locked tab is unchanged (still locked), open a new tab, and the new tab content is the subfolder you just double-clicked
When a bug happening, it looks like this:
Double-click the subfolder in the pane, the currently locked tab change to subfolder (also locked, but it's subfolder), and the currently pane content change to the subfolder you just double-clicked

There are two ways to overwrite a locked tab, the first is a feature, the second is a logical necessity:

1) Hold CTRL+ALT when going to the location via address bar or tree.

2) The locked tab is also the default tab.

1) I am 100% sure not Hold CTRL+ALT when going to the location via address bar or tree. But the tab did change.
2) This happens on any tabs, not just the default tab

You double-click a folder in the list in a locked tab and that tab changes to that folder still being locked? No, I cannot reproduce this.

Can you also do it with a fresh instance (type fresh; into the Address Bar and press Enter)?

This happens randomly, not every time.
I don't know when it can be reproduced.
But it happens a few times a day

I think I saw that, too - but also never managed to find a repro.

I too have this happen a few times a day lately. Also folders occasionally revert to a different folder view, assuming its default and I have to restore. Will post more info if I find any

This is a bug recurrence, the locked tab was replaced last time.
