Very slow deletion of images

Post by lian00 »

Hello, thanks for the update and Image Hash feature, it will be a great help for me.

But, as I was testing the feature, I met a strange problem : deleting an image is very slow after filtering (a huge directory with near 5000 files) and I suppose XYplorer is refreshing the view (and calculates again Image Hash).

You delete the image from the search results, right?
Is the Image Hash column showing?

Does not happen here. It's fast and no hash is recalculated on delete. :|

How do you delete the files?

Hm. Any "unusual" settings in your XY configuration? Can you post a screenshot of the situation?

PS: Or are you using a Color Filter on images hashes? This indeed slows it down.

I don’t think so, I did not know there was something like this. Where can I check this ?

If you don't know it then you don't have it. :)

Often a screenshot tells me the crucial difference to my own setup.

Ok, tried it: same. Can't reproduce the issue.

Tip: If deletion is slow, the cause can be an overcrowded recycle bin.

I emptied the recycle bin and it takes less time but still time. I will make some tests with lighter directories.

Thanks for your quick answer.

Tested on a 600 files directory and it’s much faster so it may be relative to the numbers of files.
