Dates show up as "(unknown)"

Post by prino »

They're valid NTFS dates, show up in the WinRAR archive, but I haven't got a clue why I ever (in 2003) set them to 1601-01-01T00:00:00.

I've attached a WinRAR archive with some of the "offending" files. If you have WinRAR, add any file to the RAR, remove it, and use the options to set the date of the file to that of the "latest file time" to set the date to 1601-01-01T00:00:00. Note that the files in the RAR archive are uncompressed, in the past I used to create "solid" achives by adding an uncompressed archive into a real archive, which usually resulted in a substantially higher compression ratio than directly creating a solid archive.

As an aside, WinRAR (4.40, I'm not upgrading for various reasons) extracts the dates OK, re-RAR-ing sets them to 1985-01-01 inside the archive, so I was unable to attach anything smaller.

For what it's worth, I cannot set any date to 1601-01-01 on the properties pane, the earliest is 1601-01-02.
