Network Browsing v20.50.0111+

Post by VeeGee »

Good evening,
My network browsing has been unusable with the last 2 betas. These are normal mapped drives and shares. All locations are available (LAN). None of my settings have changed from previous versions. I have rolled back to v20.50.0109 - 2019-11-02 12:25 and the problems go away. When I run load times script, I get ~19 seconds on Tab Icons. This is probably due to a locked/pinned network tab. Clicking the tab takes ~15 seconds more to show the contents.

My settings haven't changed and are :
Fast network enumeration - checked
Assume that servers are available - checked
Cache network servers - checked

Windows 10 x64 1903 / 2 mapped drives / 2 network shares. Prior to these betas, no issues w/them. Whatever changed in the recent betas is not working well over here.

I can provide more details if needed.

I also experienced this with 0112, but for me, reverting to 0111 was enough to resolve the issue.

Ensure this is unticked in v20.50.0113 and you should be back at the old speed:
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network | Pre-check availability of servers

If this is checked:
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network | Pre-check availability of servers
then browsing of a FritzNAS Device is not working at all. Worked in versions before 20.50.113, had ticked this option all the time.

It works if i untick it.

Do you see any disadvantages when you untick it?

Do you see that FritzNAS device in the list returned by this?:

Code: Select all

text runret("net view");

No disadvantages here.

FRITZ-NAS is returned by this command.

Is FRITZ-NAS the name of the node, or FRITZNAS, or \\FRITZ-NAS. Please give exact info, that might enable me to fix it. A screenshot is always the best.

BTW, over here there is \\FRITZ-NAS listed and there are no problems regardless of the setting of the option.
