icons missing in one pane

Hi,

the problem is best described by the screenshot. The upper pane is not showing the icons of files and folders. It's quite annoying to browse like that, since icons are a perfect indicator to the eye
Had the same problem on another machine and the only way to get rid of it was to do a reinstall, abandoning all my settings. Doing that was rather annoying and I'd like to know how to get rid of the problem or, if it is a bug, suggest it gets fixed.

I already...

• updated
• saved the lower column layout and loaded it in the upper pane
• looked through all settings --> didn't find one that fits the description

ok, that was it. Thanks a lot.

Now I look like I didn't look for it, but I have. I forgot to mention that I did search the help and found an entry as shown below but I couldn't see anything when clicking 'display'.
I just now noticed, that the help doesn't show ANYTHING anymore. Is this also some setting or is this a bug? The right side of the help menu is supposed to show something, right? (happens on a win10 pro PC and win2016 server with XYplorer version 20.20)

And you did unblock the .chm file?

Being a "today"s computer user involves too much of attention to everything . OSes are much more complex, defaults are never perfect (especially in today's Windowses (and not only) where 'security' seems paramount while it's only security in quotes) and XY offers thousands of options .
Never forget that apart from Settings dialog, there are menus to show/hide various elements and right-click context menus on various elements as well .
Menu - Tools - Customize Tree/List is something I urgently remember all the time, and menu Panes too.
