Ctrl-F2 Swap names - no archive bit set

Post by prino »

Should this function not also set the archive attribute bit of both files, as not doing so may cause problems with incremental backups? In essence it's a double rename, and renames always set the archive attribute bit on!

Yes, it does, which makes me wonder why it's not shown, I've got auto-refresh on.

There's of course something else Window itself doesn't do, so in that respect XY is "correct", and that's setting the archive bit of every file in the directory trees when two directories are name-swapped (or even one renamed).

Not shown where? It is shown here on the Info Panel if auto-refresh is on.

I know where auto-refresh is shown, and it's on, but if I Ctrl-F2 two names, nothing shows until I manually F5:

When I Ctrl-F2, on two files where the Attr column shows ---N---, the ---N--- stays after the names have been swapped! (And forgive me that the dash-count isn't correct)

I can hold my breath until I'm blue in the face (and that's pretty long), but only F5 will show the changed situation. W7 v W8?

Yes, maybe it's Win7. Anyway, the next beta will take care of it.
