Show name length while renaming hides inline rename in tree

Post by nas8e9 »

With Show name length while renaming, enabled, there seems to be a problem with inline rename in the tree: when appending a long folder name (display already cut off), the counter hides the last characters when adding characters to the file name. These last characters remain hidden while adding to the file name.

I'd expect the last part of the folder name to scroll into view when starting the folder rename, and remain into view?

Does not seem to happen here. This tree is as narrow as it gets, and the folder name is pretty long.

Odd. With a fresh instance of 20.20.0100 and an existing long folder:
1. Press F2;
2. press end;
3. press any charachter key.

The counter seems to overlay the last part of the filename:
Before entering character.png
After entering character.png

Can't explain: no exotic hardware drivers or something (the animation was done in a VM).

Just tested, same result as admin = no such problem.
Maybe some special constellation font- or window-scaling wise?

Thank you. No Windows scaling: 100%. Tested with fresh config: Segoe UI 9.

Only happens in the tree, not in the list?

In a fresh instance with the window shrunk horizontally, it happens in the list as well.

None. It's a very vanilla install, with the VM config even more so. :|
