The CAD software that I use (Solidworks) creates temporary files for each model file that is being worked on, which it uses for data recovery if the program crashes. These temporary files are deleted once the model being worked on is closed, but they are always there while Solidworks has a model open. The problem is that if I click on one of these files in the list pane while the preview pane is active, XYplorer will hang and stay that way until it's force terminated. Closing Solidworks at this point has no effect.
This is with the latest stable version of XYplorer on Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

XYplorer hangs with preview pane
Re: XYplorer hangs with preview pane
Trying to preview a file that is being written to by other software is likely to always cause issues, anyway in the meantime until the developer replies to this topic if you are interested in a way to possibly mitigate your problem, you could hide those files from XYs listing so you can't click on them, have you tried the Ghost Filter before?

also more info available in the help file. Of course that is assuming that the files in question have a special extension that you could block in your work folder with a wildcard, or something unique added to the filename etc.

Re: XYplorer hangs with preview pane
Another option might be to remove the extensions of the files in question from the list of previewed formats in XY so it wouldn't even attempt to preview them.

Re: XYplorer hangs with preview pane
Nice! That fixes it, or at least works around it. The temp files have the same extension as the normal working files (.sldprt) but add a tilde at the beginning. I just turned off preview for all Solidworks files since there isn't anything installed that will preview them anyway.
Thanks!
