Just came across this:
Folder with images, and click on the preview image in the properties pane. This will (obviously) perform a MDBU.
Now, while the image is showing, use the cursor keys to move to another image, and release the left button - the blown up image stays up, and what's more it stays up even when switching to another application, such as this forum in PaleMoon, see the attached image. Clicking on the image will get rid of it again.
I don't think it's right, but on occasion it might just be useful.

You can achieve the same with a right-click MDBU (if Configuration | Preview | Mouse Down Blow Up | Stay up is ticked).
I agree: it looks wrong but might be useful. I tend to keep it.
