I recognized with version 19.30 the last folder is not always selected when going a directory up.
The option is set in General - Tree and list - subfolders.
I try here with root directory Y: - it doesn't matter in which subfolder i go, when i go back (either by double click or by key) the folder isn't selected anymore. i always end in the root of the folder.
EDIT: 19.30.0001 did not solve the problem.
19.30 Last used folder not remembered
Re: 19.30 Last used folder not remembered
The Problem seems only to occur in the Root Directory of a Drive since 19.30.
I've attached an example.

Yessssssssss! I came here to ask about this. I see I'm not alone in this.
I didn't quite understand why it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, but I now see that indeed it involves the root directory only.
I hope this can be fixed!

Re: 19.30 Last used folder not remembered
I can confirm this issue too.
Re: 19.30 Last used folder not remembered
This bug seems to exist again in the root dir.
Re: 19.30 Last used folder not remembered
Ah ok, it seems i can reproduce:
The Bug doesn't happen when doing the following:
- it doesn't happen if you use the back-key and go back to root drive.
- it doesn't happen when you double click in an empty white area and go back to root drive.
- It doesn't happen when you click in the blue bar above the file list on the root drive.
it only happens when you click in the tree on the root dir. or is this intended that it doesn't work here and is no bug?

Exactly, it's intended like that. And it's like that not only in the root.
