Name length while renaming

Post by genieautravail »

Hello

I'm using the version 18.90.100 of XYplorer on a computer with french edition of Windows XP Pro SP3.
The name length while renaming feature doesn't works as expected.
On the screenshot below the name length isn't displayed :

On this screenshot, with a forbidden character (?), the warning icon is displayed but not the name length:

I hope that this bug will be resolved in the next release.

Are you using any kind of software like WindowBlinds, etc. (that allows you to customize / skin your desktop appearance)?

If not, try a fresh instance (::fresh;) in the address bar to see if not a color setting is preventing the correct displayment
of that box content)

Hello,

No, I'm not using any software like WindowBlinds.
The problem occur even on a fresh install of XYplorer with default settings.

Well, this matches your other problem with the missing toolbar separators. Something is apparently wrong with your color setup or your graphics. I don't think this is a general XP problem, since there are still a number of XY users on XP who would have told me otherwise.

I have found the culprit: Zune desktop theme

This theme is provide by Microsoft apart from Windows XP.

It's an official theme from Microsoft. Can you add support to this theme to XYplorer ?

That looks like a bug in that theme.

In the next XYplorer beta run this line through the Address Bar and post the returns:

Code: Select all

text "COLOR_WINDOWFRAME: " . get("syscolor", 6) . <crlf> . "COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT: " . get("syscolor", 14);

Here the return:

COLOR_WINDOWFRAME: 000000
COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT: 000000

Well, that explains it. It means that this theme is buggy. It's not the first MS bug...

I see if I find the time to work around it...

...

Done. Next beta.

Again, thank you very much for the first-class support. :appl:

Sounds more like trolling to me. I guess at some point I need to take some actions...
